Day Three Part Two: Hei Tiki in the Auckland War Memorial Museum

The Auckland domain contains a huge hill and at the top of this sits the Auckland War Memorial Museum, which focuses on history (natural, war, social, fashion and design) and has one whole floor devoted to Maori history and culture.

Of course I went a bit nuts with the photo taking.
















There were a lot of abalone (paua) shell eyes...




Some tikis were a bit harder to photograph as they were behind glass...







The eyes have it...
