Day Nine: A Walk in the Rainforest and on to Whackapapa

Today was the day we were meant to leave our lodgings at 5 am, in order to have breakfast with the birds in the forest. But because of more break-in related tasks to be completed (prescription pick-ups, photographs for temporary passports taking, backpack shopping etc.), we had a leisurely morning in Taupo and had lunch in the rainforest instead. We then drove on to the ski resort area of Whackapapa.
