This morning I walked down to the harbour and went on a very different snorkeling trip. This time it was a smallish group on a tall ship named the Derwent Hunter. We sailed to three islands or sandbanks and snorkeled from the shore.
These ghostly creatures were seen on the first island...
They were juvenile (I think) White-Bellied Sea Eagles.
And here's the Derwent Hunter, as seen from the shore:
The water was a bit murky at times...
A flash of blue among the coral...
Finally I catch the whole wrasse!
I think many of you know about my snail and slug phobia. At least the sea version isn't slimy!
Three's a crowd, but oh well!
That evening my Air BNB hosts threw a dinner party on their balcony, to which I was invited. Here are a couple shots of their flat and the view from the balcony, that I took the following morning.
That morning I flew to Brisbane, and checked into the fabulous Tryp Hotel. Yes, it was a bit hipsterish, but in a good pop art/midcentury modern kind of way. I took loads of photos of it as well as during my long walk around Brisbane. But unfortunately I lost them all when I lost my camera a few days later. (Luckily I had downloaded the shots from yesterday, and sometimes I did this daily, but now had a busy three-day stretch.)
This was my Olympic underwater camera that I lost. I did not use my Canon in Brisbane as I was charging the batteries at the hotel. I somehow left my charger as well as my spare battery in my hotel room - more on that later!
I did take a few shots on my Ipod Touch:
Goodbye to Oz - Malaysia tomorrow!
