Days 39 & 40: I fly to Kuala Lumpur and avoid the city

Most of the first day was spent in the air; it's a long eight-hour flight from Brisbane to Kuala Lumpur, via Singapore. I had booked an Air BNB on the outskirts of the city as I would rather relax for a day than run around another big city.

My hosts had told me to download Maps.me as their place was marked on the online/offline map, and previous Air BNB guests had had trouble finding the house. So did my taxi driver, although he insisted he had been using the app. He was lost for more than an hour! I was so relieved to finally find the house and a warm welcome, a BBQ dinner of multiple courses. My hosts' five-year-old daughter, Misa, decided that I was her new best friend and took over my iPod Touch for a while.

Here she is giving us a tour of the gardens. There was an artist in residence; hence the paintings.

Here she is going a bit nuts. I do like the video art though.

Freaking out at her double teeth!

And here's a little song. Not "Dizzy," though it should have been...

Just a bit of craziness...

The next day I took a few photos of the lush garden with my ipod. (I also took a lot with my Olympus, which I lost.)

A walk around the garden:

As you can see, when it rains, it pours! This was the view from my room.

Misa's father, Julien, took me on a jungle walk, during which I also took a lot of lost photos with the Olympus, including all my monkey shots. I did have the Canon with me, though it was suffering a bit in the humidity (as I was, and as you can tell here...)

There are the towers! I was content to see them from this sort of distance...

This evening we had a massive Indian meal prepared by a friend of the family. I would have liked to have stayed a few more days, but I had a plane to catch in the morning...
