Day Fourteen: The snow-covered peaks of Aoraki National Park

We hit the road again, driving south, and stopped at some wetlands, where we saw this pukeko, one of a pair.







And some black swans:








As well as a Paradise duck family:


A pied shag, preening:


Another pied shag, perching:



Okay, now we are going to get scenic. First glimpse of snow on the mountains:


More and more snow, the higher ye go...






This was a panorama shot that didn't quite match up; I made the mountain range wider!













The sight of this observatory made me think of the Professor on Felix the Cat!





That's our van!




Now we're getting a bit Biblical...
